Sharing the same key of G minor and almost identical duration and note count with HWV 536, this Minuet invites comparison between the two. Playing them together reveals how Handel explored different melodic paths and harmonic color within the same key and dance form. Its calm mood also gives intermediate players good practice in sustaining long phrases.

George Frideric Handel (1685-1759)
