Description
Composed around 1830, this E minor waltz remained unpublished during Chopin's lifetime and became known only posthumously. It combines a wistful melody with elegant dance rhythm, and among his many posthumous waltzes, it remains one of the most frequently performed. The gentle shift to a major key in the middle section is especially memorable.

Frédéric Chopin (1810-1849)
Frederic Chopin was born in Poland and made his career in Paris, remaining unusual among great composers for writing almost exclusively for piano. He poured his longing for his homeland into mazurkas and polonaises, while his ballades and etudes combine poetic melody with harmonic innovation.
