Description
Written around 1830, this waltz is sometimes referred to by its tempo marking, "Sostenuto." Set in a calm E-flat major, it has a more song-like quality than a typical dance waltz, blending elegance with intimacy. Like several of Chopin's waltzes, it went unpublished during his lifetime.

Frédéric Chopin (1810-1849)

He poured his longing for his homeland into mazurkas and polonaises, while his ballades and etudes combine poetic melody with harmonic innovation.
