Description
This prelude opens BWV 1006a, an arrangement of the solo violin Partita No. 3. The brilliant broken chords and rapid passagework of the original have been recast for keyboard, sustaining virtuosic energy across a duration of nearly seven minutes. It makes for a vibrant opening to the suite.
