The Blue Danube Waltz (main theme)

Johann Strauss II

DifficultyIntermediate
Duration0:39
Notes247
OpusOp. 314

Description

An arrangement of the universally familiar opening theme from the waltz often called Austria's unofficial national anthem. Its flowing triple-time melody evokes the gentle swell of the Danube River, and though under a minute long, it calls for a feel for the subtle rhythmic lilt characteristic of the Viennese waltz.

Waltzes in elegant triple time, including Chopin's concert waltzes alongside works by a range of other composers.
