Description
This famous march was composed for a newspaper's event and later inspired an entire dance style, the "Washington Post" two-step. Its bright, approachable melody gives it a dance-like lightness alongside its march character. Relatively compact at about two and a half minutes among Sousa's works, it still packs in many notes, testing the pianist's finger speed and agility.
