About the Composer

Ignaz Pleyel (1757-1831)

Ignaz Pleyel (1757-1831) studied with Haydn before moving from Austria to France, where he composed in the Classical style. He later founded the Pleyel piano manufacturing company, whose instruments would become favorites of pianists including Chopin. This site includes his piece 'Rondo.'
