Description
'Gondellied' (Gondola Song), Op. 4, is by the Croatian composer Dora Pejačević, one of the first significant female composers from her country. The piece unfolds a lyrical melody over a gently rocking rhythm evocative of a Venetian boatman's song. At an intermediate level and moderate length, it carries the late-Romantic atmosphere typical of Central European music around the turn of the twentieth century.
