Description
This Minuet in D major is thought to date from around 1790, during Mozart's later years, showing a more refined harmonic sensibility than his earlier dance pieces. Within its graceful triple-time rhythm, subtle chromatic coloring is woven throughout. At around four minutes with over 1,300 notes, it is rated at an intermediate level yet still rewards a nuanced, expressive approach, calling for a discerning ear to trace its harmonic shifts at an unhurried tempo.
