Description

A minuet counted among Mozart's earliest surviving compositions, included in the notebook compiled for his sister Nannerl. Set in a simple three-part form with an unpretentious melody, it lasts only about a minute, yet shows that the young composer already grasped the basic shape of a dance form.

The minuet, an elegant triple-time dance popular in the Baroque era, evoking the refined atmosphere of a courtly ball.
