Description
Composed in 1785, this is one of Mozart's most celebrated fantasias, often performed alongside his Piano Sonata No. 14 in C minor, K.457. Dramatic harmonic shifts and chromatic passages intertwine with striking contrasts of tempo and mood. At around thirteen minutes with over 4,100 notes, it is a substantial work requiring expressive range and stamina from advanced pianists. Conveying its shifting emotional scenes with conviction is the real test of this large-scale piece.
