Description
Dating from around 1829, during Chopin's student years at the Warsaw Conservatory, this polonaise makes gentle use of the soft sonority of G-flat major. Unlike his later, more dramatic polonaises, it has a graceful, song-like character. Rarely performed, it offers an interesting look at his style before moving to Paris.

Frédéric Chopin (1810-1849)
Frederic Chopin was born in Poland and made his career in Paris, remaining unusual among great composers for writing almost exclusively for piano. He poured his longing for his homeland into mazurkas and polonaises, while his ballades and etudes combine poetic melody with harmonic innovation.
