Description
Dating from around 1829, during Chopin's student years at the Warsaw Conservatory, this polonaise makes gentle use of the soft sonority of G-flat major. Unlike his later, more dramatic polonaises, it has a graceful, song-like character. Rarely performed, it offers an interesting look at his style before moving to Paris.

Frédéric Chopin (1810-1849)

He poured his longing for his homeland into mazurkas and polonaises, while his ballades and etudes combine poetic melody with harmonic innovation.
