Description
Nocturne Op.72 No.1 in E minor, published posthumously, is thought to have been written when Chopin was around seventeen. Despite its early date, its melancholic melody already hints at the poetic quality found in his later nocturnes. At around three minutes and with modest technical demands, it is well suited to practicing an expressive, singing melodic line.

Frédéric Chopin (1810-1849)
Frederic Chopin was born in Poland and made his career in Paris, remaining unusual among great composers for writing almost exclusively for piano. He poured his longing for his homeland into mazurkas and polonaises, while his ballades and etudes combine poetic melody with harmonic innovation.
