Description
Waltz No. 15 in A-flat major is the most celebrated piece from Brahms's Sixteen Waltzes, Op. 39, originally composed for piano four hands but equally beautiful in this solo arrangement. Its sweet, flowing melody glides gracefully over a triple-meter waltz rhythm, making it a long-time favorite at recitals and in salons. It offers intermediate players good practice in singing legato phrasing balanced naturally against the left-hand accompaniment.

Johannes Brahms (1833-1897)
Johannes Brahms was a composer born in Hamburg who rose to prominence after being championed by Robert and Clara Schumann, later settling in Vienna. He fused classical formal rigor with Romantic expressiveness across symphonies and chamber music, and in his later years wrote many introspective piano miniatures.
