Description

The Intermezzo in A major, Op. 118 No. 2 is one of Brahms's late masterpieces, published in 1893 as part of his 'Six Pieces.' Its gentle, dreamlike melody unfolds quietly through introspective harmonic colors, while the middle section grows more passionate through shifting tonalities before the opening mood returns. It offers intermediate players a taste of Brahms's deeply personal late style.

Late piano pieces by Brahms, marked by deep lyricism and introspective beauty, often ranked among the pinnacles of Romantic piano music.
