Isaac Albéniz (1860-1909)
Isaac Albeniz was a Spanish composer and virtuoso pianist from Catalonia. A child prodigy, he later mingled in Paris with figures like d'Indy and Debussy while forging a nationalist Spanish style infused with flamenco and folk idioms. His piano suite Iberia remains his masterwork. The piece featured here, "Rumores de la Caleta," comes from his collection Recuerdos de Viaje, Op. 71.
