Description
Originally written for two pianos, this sonata movement features melodic material that passes back and forth between the two keyboard parts as if in dialogue. Even performed as a solo piano version, one can sense the original interplay in how the musical lines unfold. At around eleven minutes and over 7,900 notes, it is an advanced piece that requires clearly distinguishing the roles of each voice.
