This melodic fragment in B-flat major, K.deest, believed to date from around 1789, was never left in a fully completed form. The absence of a Köchel number (K.deest) reflects the uncertainty surrounding its origin. At around a minute and a half with roughly five hundred notes, a simple melodic line unfolds within this moderate scale, offering a glimpse into an unfinished corner of Mozart's creative output.
