Also part of the Six Fugues published in 1735, this piece is marked by the bright sonority of B-flat major. Its contrapuntal writing, with the subject passed successively between voices, reflects the influence of the Italian style Handel absorbed during his years there. Though compact at around three minutes, it demands the skill to balance the voices carefully, making it suited to advanced players.
