Description
Completed in 1844, the Third Sonata is the most substantial and fully realized of Chopin's three piano sonatas. Its four movements move from a commanding opening through a swift scherzo and a deeply lyrical Largo to a driving finale, fusing structural rigor with romantic expressiveness. It stands as one of the most technically and musically demanding works in his output.

Frédéric Chopin (1810-1849)
Frederic Chopin was born in Poland and made his career in Paris, remaining unusual among great composers for writing almost exclusively for piano. He poured his longing for his homeland into mazurkas and polonaises, while his ballades and etudes combine poetic melody with harmonic innovation.
