Description
This is an incomplete set of variations Schumann based on a theme by Beethoven, written around 1831 during his formative years as a composer. It shows the young Schumann paying homage to Beethoven while experimenting with variation technique and his own emerging pianistic voice. As an unfinished sketch, it offers a valuable glimpse into his early creative process rather than a fully polished concert piece.

Robert Schumann (1810-1856)
