Description
This is the Adagio second movement of Piano Sonata No. 1, Op. 2 No. 1. Shifting from the sonata's home key of F minor to a warm, singing melody in F major, it reveals the lyrical side of the young Beethoven. While rooted in the styles of Haydn and Mozart, its harmonic language already hints at the depth of his later works, requiring expressive phrasing and a well-balanced touch.
